Indeed, it is a $27 theme from Theme Forest, which is acknowledged on the Thanks & Credits page on the WordCamp site itself, and has been since we launched it. Nobody was hiding that fact - and actually, we went to some length to acknowledge it even though doing so is not required by the license. I don't see the issue here; well-coded themes are an excellent resource if you're looking to cut your dev time, as we were with WordCamp.
