I’ve been quite surprised with myself this year. I have absolutely no interest in Irish politics, but I try to read and know everything about the US Presidential Election this year. It just feels so refreshing to see a genuine politician such as Obama speak about not only what the American people need, but what the world needs too. When Bush was elected in 04 I remember being in a state of shock. For America to redeem itself, they need to elect Barack. The whole world is crying out for it. And hey, if America doesnt want Barack, Ireland will take him.

re the predicting the electoral college results, I think Good old boy Jed Bush has already published the Florida results.

YES – Baked Alaska is an awesome idea! I am definitely going to try to make this, Sabrina, but I have a speaking gig that night (who schedules these things?!) that I will try to get out of.

If not, I will be cheering on Nader & co. late into the night here in Dublin.

And Simon, I am *definitely* with you on the chicken counting. As someone from the Midwest, I think a lot of Irish people are going to be surprised at how close this election will be.

Aw, I would love, love, LOVE to go but I will in two days into my new job running off to Cork for all-nighter parties would probably be frowned up. But I’ll be hosting one in the apartment that night (no Stars and Stripes cupcakes, but the next best thing – Obama logo cup cakes!) though so maybe I can Skype you and it will feel like we’re one big happy family….
