BetterCars.ie Launched

I don’t know about you, but the minute I hear the words “used car sales” I brace myself for a deeply unpleasant experience. So we worked hard to put together a site that would set BetterCars.ie apart from its unfortunate cousins in the used car market. Interestingly, although you cannot purchase vehicles online, this site is built on an ecommerce platform – we’ve simply ripped the financial transaction part out and taken full advantage of the cataloguing system. (The site also features a blog, though it’s currently a bit unloved.)

I love the request a car feature, my boyfriend was interested in getting a car from the UK because of their higher spec but it seems like a lot of bother to do it yourself. This might be ideal. Also, surprisingly, I like the manly colours :-)
19.08.2008, 8:55 amAhh thanks, Darran, good catch. Damn place holder images. All fixed. And Maz, I am glad you like it and don’t find it to be overbearingly masculine. I think it’s a nice browsing environment – or that was the idea, anyway!
The name of the website in blue and orange reminded me of arguscarhire.ie.
19.08.2008, 11:32 pmHey Merril. You’re right; it’s not an unusual colour combination. Although I’d never seen the Argus site before today, I bump into it all the time. Most recently I saw it at the iia website. I have a default color pallet I’ve developed over 10 or so years of doing this, and this orange is my favourite orange, straight off that pallet. You’ll see a lot of it in my portfolio.
It’s a lovely clean site, really easy to navigate. Well done!
